We are very excited to have Barbara Stanton with us to share her knowledge. Barbara will do a demonstration of miniature egg tempera painting. It is an ancient medium that artists used long before oils were invented. It is her first time demonstrating this technique to a large group. She will show how to make the egg yolk solution and how to mix that with the powdered pigments to make the paint.
Barbara will talk about the specifics of the surfaces that must be used to be successful. She will also demonstrate the techniques used to paint a miniature egg tempera and the differences that this medium has compared to others. She will mention the names of the most famous artists who have painted with this medium.
About the Artist
"Barbara Stanton is one of our own and is Internationally known, specializing in miniature paintings and life drawings. She works mostly in oils, egg tempera, and digital drawing on the iPad. She has been painting for more than forty-five years, has mastered her techniques, and continues to seek challenges. Her work covers a wide variety of subjects and is done in a very traditional realistic style."
